This past campaign cycle, we saw up close and personal, a rash of last minute ads against several people running for office. This is nothing new. Campaigns know that in the last week to 10 days, your opponent will probably throw every bit of ammunition against you that they have-real or imagined or told in part truths. They do this hoping the other side won’t be able to effectively “set the record straight.” (more…)

When neighbors gather in my neighborhood, the discussion is not usually politics or the heat these days, it’s the astronomical cost of electricity. It is time we looked seriously at those fuel adjustment charges on our bills. What we’ve noticed is that we are using about the same amount of energy as previous years. The charge for energy is about the same as last, but with the fuel adjustment charges and their meteoric rise resulted in bills where many of us are paying more for the fuel adjustment than we are for the energy.
