Has the supposedly conservative paper got it in for the GOP?

February 8, 2010 - by Andrew Walden
Judging by recent Washington Times coverage, the Republican National Committee is a hotbed of dissension — even after big GOP wins in Virginia, New Jersey, and most recently Massachusetts. But at the RNC winter meeting in Honolulu, in a series of key RNC ballots on party fundraising and candidate selection, there was not a single dissenting vote. (more…)

Republican and Conservative Leaders and Activists:
At its Winter Meeting last week, the Republican National Committee adopted an important and historic resolution “concerning party support for candidates.” Sponsored by Bill Crocker of Texas, the unanimously-adopted resolution calls on all Republican Party leaders “to carefully screen” all candidates and to “determine that they wholeheartedly support the core principles and positions of the Republican Party as expressed in the Platform” and urges that “no support, financial or otherwise, be given to candidates who clearly do not support the core principles and positions of the Republican Party as expressed in the Platform.” (more…)

As you all know, the Republican National Committee has been working very diligently behind the scenes with the Massachusetts Republican Party and the National Republican Senatorial Committee for the past three months. Chairman Nassour has been diligent in this effort to keep the focus on the voters in Massachusetts and on the differences between Scott Brown and Martha Coakley. Under her leadership we have kept our heads low and simply worked hard every day to support their efforts both with financial resources, technological assistance, and with manpower. (more…)

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today:
“The real question Americans are asking is, ‘What has President Obama actually accomplished?’ It is unfortunate that the president’s star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights. One thing is certain – President Obama won’t be receiving any awards from Americans for job creation, fiscal responsibility, or backing up rhetoric with concrete action.”

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today: “As President Obama travels to Copenhagen to bring the Summer Olympics to his hometown seven years from now, Americans back home are increasingly concerned they won’t have a job seven months from now as they see more and more of their neighbors and friends lose jobs today. The president’s verbal gymnastics will not hide that fact that more than 263,000 Americans lost their jobs in the month of September alone and the national unemployment rate increased yet again to 9.8 percent. The president said, ‘the measure of an economy is, is it producing jobs?’ Clearly it isn’t. President Obama can either acknowledge that his economic experiments have failed and change course, or continue down this path and see even more Americans lose their jobs.”
